JOY OF ARTA
Winemaker
King Artashes chose the heart of the Ararat Valley and founded there a city to which he gave his own name. Thus was born Artashat — the ancient capital of Armenia, the “Joy of Artashes,” where the ancient word “shat” carries the meaning of joy.
In these lands, warmed by the sun and the breath of centuries, not far from the ancient capital, Joy of Arta is born. Its name continues the legend of Artashat: Joy — the happiness embedded in the very name of the city, Arta — a remembrance of Artashes, Artashat, and the art of winemaking.
Today, Joy of Arta is created at a family winery, where ancient land meets modern taste, and tradition finds a new voice.
Every bottle of Joy of Arta is joy carried through the centuries, the art of the moment, and a living memory of the land where history becomes wine.
